Peekaboo Dress-Up

Peekaboo Dress-Up

It’s no secret that I have a deep love for ice cream. I enjoy creating new things in the kitchen and treating myself to delicious frozen treats regularly.  However, there is one thing that I love almost as ice cream.  It’s Fashion.  I’ve loved to play dress-up ever since I was a little girl.  Fashion is an amazing way to express your feelings and personal style, I am all for that.

As I was getting my daughter ready for school the other day, it hit me – BAM!  Why not combine my two favorite things… Fashion and ice cream?  No, I am not talking about wearing ice cream as an outfit, although I am pretty sure Lady Gaga has attempted such a thing… I am talking about using Peekaboo’s bold colors as an inspiration for my outfits. This year’s MET Gala theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion – which in my opinion was one of the most open-ended themes to date. Camp is exaggerated, new, old, extravagant, gaudy, essentially anything you personally find “campy”.  I thoroughly enjoyed the variety in every designer’s take on this vague theme, especially those inspired by food (I’m talking to you Katy Perry and Jeremy Scott).

I have put together some of my favorite Peekaboo/Camp inspired looks ranging from casual ready-to-wear, work looks, and perfect date-night outfits. Taking new perspectives on how you see the world is always fun. So, let’s play Peekaboo dress-up!
